It was a really good stay and maybe come back around summer time to enjoy the pool
The hotel seems really brand new. Good location and near to the train station. Check in and check out process was easy. Staff are really nice especially those in the breakfast time. The lobby smells really good.
They do not have any disposable slippers in the room. They do not have any toothbrushes set in the vanity kit. The pool is really cold that no one wants to dip in. Didn’t enjoy the big pool but the jacuzzi, steam bath and sauna was really nice

What was the highlight of Dorsett Melbourne
Comfy bed close to Southern Cross station
Bed and pillows were really comfortable as per my preference for a firm bed. The indoor pool was heated for a swim in winter. Located close to Southern Cross station for early departure and easy to get to Coles next to it for a few items for the trip. As a solo traveler felt safe walking to Southern Cross station at 6:30am/before the sun came up.
I specifically ticked the box on their checkin form to say I didn’t want to enrol in the Dorsett rewards programme and nor did I want any marketing emails when I had to provide my email as part of their checkin procedures. The staff member ignored that - probably so they could get an incentive - and just enrolled me anyway and now I’m getting spam. The faucet in the bathroom splashed the vanity benchtop so had to be super careful when turning it on and couldn’t put too much on the bench top. No robes or slippers to wear to the pool. Also signage at the pool area was lacking because it was hard to know where the sauna and steam room was…you just had to walk into one of the unisex toilets to find the sauna and then the steam room was in the other unisex toilet. 20-25 minutes walk to get to the main shopping/eating district of Melbourne CBD, but I wasn’t here for that and its proximity to Southern Cross station was the reason why I choose it.

Great facilities and close to everything.
Great location and facilities.
Unfortunately the hot tub was really not hot at all. My shower drain smelt and was in real need of a good clean. The gym opens too late -6am when you have kids is just not early enough. A few easy things to change to make the place great.
